Triple Lakes Trail Race
The Triple Lakes Trail Race marks its 20th year and takes place each fall at Bur-Mil Park in Greensboro, North Carolina. The race centers on watershed trails around Lake Brandt, Lake Townsend, and Lake Jeanette, routing runners through wooded and lakeside terrain.
Race distance options include a range of individual and team formats:
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- Marathon (26.2 miles)
- 40 Mile Ultra (40 miles)
- Marathon relay and 40 Mile relay options
- 5 Mile race
- Virtual and ruck options available
The course is described as well marked and supported by staffed aid stations positioned throughout the route. Cutoff times are described as generous. Ruck entries involve hiking with a weighted ruck sack or weight plate carrier; ruckers are weighed prior to the race. Some entries are offered as economy options without a race shirt or finisher medal, and virtual entries allow completion of the distance off site with race packet pickup after race day.
The event includes team relay formats and virtual participation choices, and it is part of the North Carolina Trail Mega Medal Series. The event schedule includes post-race activity and volunteer support as part of the race experience. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
