Event Overview
The Running of the Turkeys is a Thanksgiving Day sporting event held at Jaycee Park Drive in Greensboro, North Carolina. The event is designed for communal participation, welcoming families, participants using strollers, and pets on leashes. Registration is mandatory for all participants aged 7 and older.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 5K Run/Walk (Timed)
- 1.6 Miles Family Fun Walk & Run (Untimed)
Course and Participation
The 1.6 Miles untimed walk and run takes place around Country Park. For those choosing the 5K event, timing services are included. Registration for the 5K distance includes a long sleeve blend shirt, while those in the 1.6 Miles event have the option to purchase a long sleeve shirt for an additional fee.
All registered participants receive a turkey-themed swag item. The event offers a refund system for groups; teams consisting of four or more people receive a collective refund, with additional discounts applied for each subsequent member who joins the team.
