About the race
The event brings together an in-person 5K run, a short Rainbow of Bubbles fun run, and a virtual 5K to raise funds for Sinai House. Proceeds will support Sinai House’s work to help families move from homelessness toward self-sufficiency by providing safe housing, social services, and financial support.
The in-person activities take place on Mother’s Day at Rock Creek Park in Washington, DC, starting at Picnic Area #24 in the Carter Barron parking lot near the Tennis Center. Free, ample parking is available at the Carter Barron lot at 4850 Colorado Ave NW; use Colorado Avenue from 16th Street to access parking near Picnic Area #24.
Distances:
- 5K run
- 1 mile Rainbow of Bubbles fun run (untimed, no hills)
- Virtual 5K
The Rainbow of Bubbles fun run is under a mile and is not timed; 5K registrants may also take part in it without separate registration. Children aged 12 and under receive a discounted registration rate via age-based pricing. Strollers and dogs are allowed for both in-person events; participants with strollers or dogs should stay toward the back of the field. For safety, dog leashes must be shorter than 3 feet and extendible or flexible leashes are not permitted.
Participants can join or create Social Race Teams and can set up Personal Fundraisers to support the event’s fundraising goal. Race bib and T-shirt pick-up is available the Friday before the event and on race morning in the Carter Barron parking lot; there is no on-site registration. An awards presentation follows the runs and cleanup begins afterward. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
