About the race
The Triad GO FAR Community 5K & Fun Run Presented by Novant Health takes place in Greensboro, North Carolina, on 11/14/2026 at 1921 W Gate City Blvd. The event serves as the finale to an eight week GO FAR program in which children and families from more than 40 Triad schools and community clubs train together to build endurance and healthy habits.
There are two distance options for participants: a 1 Mile Fun Run and a 3.1 Miles 5K. Registration options distinguish GO FAR Club members from community runners; club members should use the club 5K registration so they can select their school or club during sign up. Club members may participate in the one mile Fun Run but registering for the 1 Mile instead of the 5K can cause confusion at race day check in.
Registered runners receive event items based on registration and bib status. Registered 5K finishers who cross the finish line with a BIB receive a GO FAR finisher medal; one mile Fun Run participants with a BIB receive a GO FAR finisher token. The event uses a loop style course for easy viewing, features cheer squads along the route, provides course support, and offers free admission to race day family festivities.
