Registration and Logistics

The field limit is 500 participants. Registration cuts off at 6:00 AM on race day or when the limit is reached. The event is sanctioned by USA Triathlon (USAT). All participants, including relay team members, must be a USAT member or purchase a one-day license during registration. T-shirts are not guaranteed for registrations after August 29. Participants receive a swim cap in their race packet, which must be worn; the cap color identifies the swim start position. All athletes are body-marked with their race number and age.

Venue and Schedule

The event is held at 354 Tanners Beach Road in Carrollton, Georgia. The park opens at 6:00 AM. Check-in is from 6:00 AM to 7:30 AM. The race starts at 8:00 AM. An awards ceremony begins at 11:00 AM.

Course Details

The swim is a 600-meter triangle-shaped course in a lake, starting and exiting at the shoreline. The USAT official will determine wetsuit legality based on race-day water temperature. The swim start is a time-trial format, with athletes starting every five seconds.

The bike course is a 13.8-mile clockwise loop on paved county roads, characterized as rolling hills to flat, with some up/downhill sections. It is marked with signs and mile markers every two miles, with staff and sheriff personnel at turns.

The run is a 5-kilometer loop. The first mile is on a flat, paved trail around the park lake. The second mile travels on an unpaved park road onto a paved county road to a turnaround. The final mile returns on the same route to the finish on the lake dam. The duathlon first run leg follows the triathlon run course in reverse. The aquabike uses the same swim and bike courses as the triathlon.

Transition and Parking

In the transition area, bike racks are coordinated with assigned race numbers. Parking opens at 6:00 AM inside the park gate, with volunteers directing participants. It is a short walk to the transition area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
