Carrollton Half Marathon
The Carrollton Half Marathon is a long-distance running event held in the city of Carrollton, Georgia. The course begins and ends in the historic Adamson Square, following a route that passes Lake Carroll and utilizes the Carrollton GreenBelt. The terrain features shaded segments and rolling hills, concluding with a flat stretch of roadway.
Participants can choose from the following event categories:
- Half Marathon: A 13.1-mile individual running race.
- Relay: A 13.1-mile race for teams of 2 to 4 members.
- Wheelchair/Pushchair: A 13.1-mile race for athletes with disabilities or special needs.
The event utilizes a corral start system to manage the flow of participants. Upon registration, runners provide an expected finish time to be grouped with others of a similar pace. This system is designed to provide sufficient space for all participants from the beginning of the race.
The registration fee for individuals and relay members includes a t-shirt, a finisher's medal, and tickets for food and drinks at the post-race festival. This festival takes place at the finish line and includes music and entertainment. Awards are presented to top finishers in several categories, including overall male and female, masters, age groups, and relay teams. Cash prizes are specifically designated for the top three overall male and female runners. The event serves as a benefit for the Carrollton Greenbelt and the Community Foundation of West Georgia.
