Tri-Shark Classic race information
Tri-Shark Classic is a USA Triathlon sanctioned triathlon and duathlon held at Comlara County Park on June 5, 2027. The event uses a single paved transition area next to the beach house and main boat launch, with gravel and grass overflow parking nearby.
Distances:
- Triathlon: 600 yard swim, 13 mile bike, 5K run.
- Duathlon: 2 mile run, 13 mile bike, 5K run.
The swim is a clockwise triangular course that starts at the boat launch; swim caps are mandatory and lifeguards are positioned along the route. Wetsuits are allowed under USA Triathlon rules. The bike course is 13 miles, open to traffic, and requires riders to mount and dismount at marked lines; drafting is not allowed. A GPS file for the bike route is provided by the organizer. The run is an out and back of 5K on the road along the lake with rolling hills, markers at every half mile, and water or sports drink available at key points.
Registration is online only and closes before the event. Participants must be self-sufficient on course, symptom free of illness for 14 days before the event, and follow body marking, ID, and timing chip procedures to access transition. Post-race provisions include water and a to-go sack lunch. The event follows a no refund policy and allows transfers until May 1st for a fee. Awards are given in overall, age group, Clydesdale/Athena, relay, and club categories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
