Tri for Real Triathlon - Rancho Seco Park, Herald CA
Tri for Real is a multi-race triathlon event at Rancho Seco Park on August 8, 2026. The event offers an Olympic-distance triathlon, an Aquabike, and a Super Sprint triathlon. Relay teams are accepted for the Olympic-distance race. The Olympic-distance series and the Aquabike are USA Triathlon sanctioned for 2026; the Super Sprint is not USAT-sanctioned for 2026.
Distances include:
- Super Sprint Tri: 200 yd swim - 4 mi bike - 1 mile run
- Tri for Real: 1.5K swim - 40K bike - 10K run
- Aquabike: 1.5K swim - 40K bike
The transition area is on a first-come basis except for reserved racks for TRI clubs; it is for athletes only. Bodymarking is done at the transition entrance and will include race numbers and age division markings. Glass and bottles are not allowed in transition. Expected lake temperature is 72 to 76 degrees so wetsuits are optional. Swim fins and snorkels are not allowed. Helmets must be worn and buckled on the bike and run numbers must be worn on the run and at the finish. Listening devices are not permitted.
Aid stations are located in transition, at the run start, and at miles 1, 2.5, 3.5, and 5.2 on the run course and will offer cold water, energy gels, and FLUID electrolyte beverage.
Divisions use 5-year age groups for the Olympic-distance event and 10-year groups for the Super Sprint, plus Athena and Clydesdale divisions and relay categories. Series champions receive custom apparel and hydration flasks. The organizer maintains a no refund policy; pre-race-week refund requests can receive a race credit minus a $25 fee and transfers between events are allowed within one year for a $25 fee.
