12th Annual Native Breast Cancer Awareness Walk/Run
The event is a community walk and run held on October 17, 2026 at Elk Grove Regional Park in Elk Grove, California. It is organized to increase breast cancer awareness and screening, with an emphasis on Native American women, and to encourage early screening.
Participants can choose between the following distances:
- 1.4 Miles walk
- 2.8 Miles run
Registration includes an event t-shirt, a swag bag, light breakfast, lunch, drinks, and a raffle ticket. Early bird registration is priced at $45 and runs from June 15 to August 9, 2026. Late registration is available from August 10 to September 11, 2026 at a higher fee.
Event programming includes a welcome and prayer, team roll call, group stretching, separate waves for runners and walkers, guest speakers, honoring of breast cancer survivors, live entertainment, and a raffle. A Fun Zone offers carnival games, a jump house, a balloon artist, and face painting. Health and wellness services include a mammogram van for on-site screenings, health booths, exercise activities, a Garden of Hope, and traditional healing.
Packet pickup is scheduled for Friday, October 9 at the Wilton Rancheria Tribal Warehouse in Elk Grove. Parking is available at the warehouse lot and on nearby streets.
