TRI for Real Triathlon #1
The TRI for Real Triathlon #1 takes place at Rancho Seco Park in Herald, California. This event is the first installment of a three-part series held throughout the summer months. The competition features multiple formats and distances to accommodate different multisport disciplines, including traditional triathlon, aquabike, and a shorter super sprint option.
The Olympic-distance triathlon and the aquabike events are sanctioned by USA Triathlon, while the super sprint triathlon is a non-sanctioned race. For participants interested in team competition, relay team options are available for the main triathlon distance. Athletes who participate in all three events within the series are eligible for championship awards within five-year age group categories for both men and women.
Participants can choose from the following event distances:
- Tri for Real Triathlon: 1.5 km swim, 40 km bike, and 10 km run
- Aquabike: 1.5 km swim and 40 km bike
- Real Super Sprint Triathlon: 200 yard swim, 4 mile bike, and 1 mile run
Registered athletes receive a swim cap, post-race refreshments, and a commemorative finisher item. Race packets are distributed on the morning of the event at the race site. There is a vehicle entrance fee for Rancho Seco Park. Access to the park is restricted during certain portions of the morning due to bike course closures, requiring vehicles to either wait for the road to open or park and walk to the site.
The event is organized by Total Body Fitness and proceeds regardless of weather conditions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
