TRI for FUN Triathlon #1
The TRI for FUN Triathlon series returns for its 43rd year at Rancho Seco Park in Herald, California. This long-standing event, which originated in 1983, is held at a venue featuring a lake, road courses, and dirt trails. Participants can choose between triathlon and duathlon formats, with options for individual entry, relay teams, or a multi-race series.
The event offers two primary multisport formats:
- TRI for FUN Triathlon: A 0.5 mile lake swim, 16 mile road bike, and 3 mile dirt trail run.
- DU for FUN Duathlon: A 1 mile run, 16 mile road bike, and 3 mile dirt trail run.
Relay teams are available for the triathlon format, with divisions for male, female, and coed groups. All participants receive a finisher medal and access to post-race refreshments. Awards are presented to the top three finishers in 10-year age groups for the triathlon, and to the top three teams in each relay division.
The race site is located within Rancho Seco Park, and there is a vehicle entrance fee of $15. Race packets are distributed on the morning of the event at the park. Participants should note that vehicle entry is restricted for a 30-minute window prior to the start due to another scheduled activity on the access road.
