Event Overview
The Mikayla's Voice Tri For Inclusion is a community triathlon held at Freedom High School in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. This event focuses on inclusion and unity, allowing individuals of all abilities to compete side-by-side. The race features several participation options, including individual courses, relay teams, and roles for assistants, pushers, or pullers.
The competition utilizes an indoor pool for the swimming portion, while the cycling segment takes place on closed roads. The running portion is held on a track on the east side of the campus. There are two transition zones: one located outside the swim area exit for bikes and helmets, and a second transition south of the track where athletes drop their cycling gear before the run.
Distances and Age Guidelines
Participants can choose between two primary distance options. Age recommendations are provided as guidelines, but athletes may register for either course based on their preference:
- Short Course: Designed for ages 12 and under. It consists of a 75-yard swim (3 laps), a 2-mile bike ride (2 laps), and a 0.5-mile run (2 laps).
- Long Course: Recommended for ages 13 and older. It includes a 200-yard swim (8 laps), a 6-mile bike ride (6 laps), and a 2-mile run (8 laps).
Logistics and Registration
The event is USAT sanctioned. While the organizer waives entry fees, participants must have a USA Triathlon membership, which can be obtained during registration. The triathlon takes place rain or shine. On the day of the event, the transition area opens early for gear staging, and packet pick-up is available on-site. Parking is located in the west lot of the high school, as the east lot is utilized for the bike course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
