Event Overview
The Trek or Treat 5k Justice Run is an annual event held in Douglasville, Georgia, during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Organized by the Douglas County District Attorney, this run aims to raise awareness and resources for local domestic violence support organizations. The event takes place at Boundary Waters Park and features a USATF-certified course that serves as an official qualifier for the Peachtree Road Race.
Participants have several options for involvement:
- 5K
- Virtual 5K
- Phantom Runner (entry donation for a domestic violence survivor)
Registered participants receive a training plan provided by the ATIR Community. Those who complete their registration by September 30th are guaranteed their specific shirt size. For the first 150 registrants, race materials and items are provided on-site, while subsequent registrants and virtual participants receive their items by mail following the event.
The run is a collaborative effort involving various local entities, including the Douglas County Solicitor's Office, SHAREHouse, the Trinity Center, and the ATIR-Wellness Community Inc. Proceeds from the registration fees are used to assist local domestic violence support services. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
