Event Overview
Travis Russell's 6th Annual Run-a-Thon is a multi-event community gathering held in Elkhart, Indiana, seated at Walkers Park. The event serves as a fundraiser for The Faith Mission of Elkhart, providing support to local veterans. The central challenge involves a 10-consecutive 5K series, where a new 5K begins every hour on the hour.
Participants can choose from several physical and virtual activities:
- 5K Run "Free": A non-timed 5K open to all participants.
- 5K TIMED!: An individual timed event for those seeking competitive results.
- One Mile Fitness Walk: A family-friendly walking event.
- 5K TEAM Timed Event: A team endurance challenge for groups of 2 to 6 runners.
- Virtual 50K: A remote participation option for the full distance.
Participation Details
The timed events focus on endurance and consistency. To qualify for individual or team titles, participants must complete each 5K in under one hour to start the next segment at the top of the hour. Teams use a shared bib and may rotate runners every lap (0.52 miles) or assign full 5K segments to specific members.
Medals are awarded to all finishers who complete 10 races. Top three awards are presented for overall male and female individual participants, as well as the top three teams. Registered participants receive a store voucher for a local running shop, and event shirts are available via pre-order. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
