Trapp Cabin Trail Races
The Trapp Cabin Trail Races are an annual trail running event at the von Trapp Family Outdoor Center in Stowe, Vermont. The event offers multiple distances on trails that are not usually open to the public and serves as a fundraiser for Green Mountain Adaptive Sports.
Runners follow a mapped route that begins on Sugar Road and proceeds onto Russel Knoll Track. The 10 km course continues on Chris’s Run to the Cabin and follows the single-track trails Growler, Tapline, and Lodge Spur to the finish. The half marathon repeats the 10.5 km loop twice. The 5 km course diverts onto Old County Road and joins Tapline and Lodge Spur to the finish.
Registration opens February 1 and closes the day before the race at 5 pm ET, with day-of registration available. Published fees list youth registration in the range of $30 to $50 and adult registration in the range of $60 to $90; day-of rates are higher. Run the Day is used for registration and timing. Walkers are welcome in the 5 km event.
Awards and participant services are provided. Medal presentations recognize the top male and female finishers for each distance, the top three in each category receive a pair of Darn Tough socks, and all participants receive a participation medal plus refreshments and snacks. Restrooms at the Outdoor Center are available to participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
