Event overview
The Trapp Cabin Trail Races is an annual road-to-trail event held at the von Trapp Family Outdoor Center in Stowe, Vermont. The 16th edition is scheduled for Sunday, September 20, 2026. The event serves as a fundraiser for Green Mountain Adaptive Sports and uses Run the Day for registration and timing. The trails used for the races are not usually open to the public.

Course and format
All races follow Sugar Road onto Russel Knoll Track. The 10 km continues on Chris’s Run to the Cabin, then follows the single-track trails Growler, Tapline, and Lodge Spur to the finish. The half marathon repeats the 10.5 km loop. The 5 km diverts onto Old County Road before joining Tapline and Lodge Spur to finish. The half marathon regularly attracts more than 150 participants from New England.
Registration, awards and amenities
Registration opens February 1 and closes on the day of the event. Day-of registration is available. Fee levels vary between youth and adult entries and are higher on race day. Bib pickup and day-of registration are provided. Medal presentations honor top female and male finishers in each distance; top three in each category receive prizes. All participants receive a participation medal, refreshments and snacks. Restrooms at the Outdoor Center are available to participants. Volunteers are used for registration and on-course support.
