Maribyrnong Valley Park Backyard Ultra
The Maribyrnong Valley Park Backyard Ultra is a repeating-lap event held over the weekend of Fri 5th Feb to Mon 8th Feb 2027 at Brimbank Park, Keilor Park Drive, Keilor VIC 3036. Runners complete a measured 6.7 km loop each hour; to remain in the event a runner must finish the lap within the hour. After each completed lap, all remaining participants are considered equal for that hour, and the event continues until only one runner remains.
The event offers different entry options based on planned distance. Available yard stages are:
- 4 Yards (25k)
- 7 Yards (marathon)
- 15 Yards (100k)
- Open entry for unlimited laps
Course maps and an event guide are provided as downloadable PDFs. Entry fees vary by stage and by registration period. Trailsplus donates $1 per participant to Canteen, the Australian organisation for young people living with cancer; in 2025 the event had 180 competitors and a total donation of $250 to Canteen.
