Trails & Tarmac Backyard Ultra is scheduled for 19 September in Crickhowell, Powys, set in the Black Mountains. The route is a mix of trail and tarmac, described as 50/50, with one gradual climb, a short steep section and otherwise relatively flat terrain. The event lists an entry fee of £100 and a minimum age of 17. Facilities at the HQ include medics, showers and toilets, photographers during daytime, parking at HQ (£5), basic camping with nearby toilets, and a downloadable GPX file for the route.

Race format and rules
The event uses a backyard ultra format with repeated loops. Each loop must be completed within one hour to count. All competitors must start each loop at the bell from a starting corral; starts are one hour apart with short countdowns before each loop. Common aid stations are allowed; personal aid during a loop is not. Non-competitors are not permitted on the course. Artificial aids, including trekking poles, are prohibited. The winner is the last person to complete a loop; competitors who finish before 32 miles are recorded as DNF in the published results. Timing will be provided and the race is open-ended.
