Event details
Trails & Tarmac Summer 12hr BYU is scheduled for 19 September 2026 in Crickhowell, Powys. The event is organised by Limitless Trails. Entry fee is £75. Minimum age is 17. Entries open on 22 September 2025 and close on 17 September 2026. A GPX file for the route is provided.
Format and course
The event follows a Backyard Ultra format with a repeated loop of 4.2 miles. The first eleven loops must each be completed within an hour. The twelfth and final loop is run as a race, with the direction reversed. The route is roughly 50/50 trail and tarmac, with one gradual climb and a short steep section; the remainder is relatively flat.
Rules and facilities
Participants must be in the starting corral at the bell and start each loop at the bell; late starts are not allowed. Competitors may not leave the course during a loop except for restrooms. Personal aid during a loop is not allowed; a common aid station will be at HQ. No artificial aids (including trekking poles or headphones) are permitted. Medics, showers and toilets will be on site. Hot food is provided after the fifth loop. Medals are awarded for completing a loop and a special medal is given to those who reach 32 miles (ultra). Male and female trophies are awarded to winners.
