Trails 4 Tails is a trail running event at Codorus State Park near Hanover, PA, held on September 19, 2026. The event is organized by York Ridge Runners and includes multiple race formats that share a common looped course and central start/finish at Pavilion #1, where restrooms and a fully stocked aid station are located.
The course mixes terrain including about one mile of pavement, open fields, winding singletrack, and a lakeshore stretch when conditions allow. Runners pass the Chestnut Orchard, the site of Rummel Farm, and the Mary Ann Furnace area. Course direction alternates by year - odd years run clockwise and even years run counterclockwise.
Aid station offerings include Tailwind, Coke, ginger ale, bacon, pierogies, quesadillas, grilled cheese, pickles, and a variety of sweet and salty snacks.
Distances
- 40 Mile Ultra, seven loops of 5.72 miles, ~4,200 feet elevation gain
- 40 Mile Relay, seven loops of 5.72 miles, teams up to seven runners
- 25K, three loops of 5.72 miles, approximately 17.2 miles, ~1,800 feet climb
Cutoffs and extras include an 11-hour overall cutoff for the ultra and relay, a hard aid station cutoff at 4:00 p.m. for the ultra, a 7.5-hour cutoff for the 25K, a race-day picnic, camping at Codorus State Park, and awards for top finishers. Dogs are welcome to run with participants. Participants who register by August 1 receive an official race shirt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
