2026 Trail Trot
The Trail Trot will take place at Kinsmen Park in Sault Ste. Marie on Sunday, September 27, 2026. The event is organized by the Soo Finnish Nordic Ski Club.

Each race starts and finishes near the Soo Finnish Nordic Ski Club blue clubhouse and bib pick up will occur at that clubhouse. Course details: the 1 km uses a portion of the Kinsmen Lighted Trail; the 2 km uses the full Kinsmen Lighted Loop Trail; the 2.7 km replicates the elementary school cross country course for Grades 7 and 8 and includes a paved hill; the 5 km follows the Crystal Creek Main Trail, travels over bridges and culverts, and includes multiple hills. Race surfaces may include roots, stumps, rocks, loose gravel, sand, and pavement; bridges may be slippery.
Amenities include one water station mid way on the 5 km trail, post race refreshments near the finish, porta potties by the Soo Finnish clubhouse, an outhouse in Kinsmen Park, and a first aid station at the clubhouse. Indoor washrooms are not available in the Kinsmen Centre.
Registration is a fundraiser for Soo Finnish Nordic youth programs and is open until Sunday, September 27, 2026. The listed cost is $28.37 and includes insurance, HST, and credit card processing fees. Registration is online only and includes signing an informed consent and assumption of risk agreement.
All runners receive a participation award. The first three male and female finishers in each distance will be recognized, and the top youth aged 19 or younger in each distance will receive an award.
