The Trail Rail Run takes place on June 20, 2026, at St Regis Park in St. Regis, Montana (59866). The event offers multiple race options:

Course and event details
Most race routes begin along abandoned Northern Pacific and Milwaukee Railroad grades, tracking from Mullan, Idaho and ending in St. Regis, Montana. The 50-mile course begins along the historic state line, crosses two historical train trestles and passes through a tunnel. The final sections run alongside the St. Regis River and the finish is at St. Regis Community Park, where there will be visiting, music, free food and beer.
All participants receive a t-shirt. Individual 50-mile finishers will receive a finisher’s jacket only if registered on or before April 1; registrations after that date are not guaranteed a jacket. Proceeds support trail improvement, the local community and an annual scholarship. The event is presented in part by St. Regis Community Center and the USDA Forest Service Lolo National Forest, Superior Ranger District, and it is sanctioned by USA Track & Field.
