Trail Rail Run Overview
The Trail Rail Run is a multi-distance event scheduled for June 20, 2026, in St. Regis, Montana. The race utilizes the abandoned grades of the Northern Pacific Railroad and the Milwaukee Railroad, tracking from Mullan, Idaho, to St. Regis, Montana. The course features various terrains and historic landmarks, including a portion that follows the historic state line.
Participants will traverse a route that includes two train trestles and a tunnel. The final sections of the course run parallel to the St. Regis River. All races conclude at the St. Regis Community Park, where finishers can access music and food. The event is sanctioned by USA Track & Field and supported by various organizations, including the USDA Forest Service.

Registered participants receive a t-shirt. Individual runners in the 50 Mile category are eligible for a finisher's jacket if they register by April 1st.
