Plains Easter Rabbit Race
The Plains Easter Rabbit Race is a community running event in Plains, Montana, held at the Plains Beach Boat Launch and nearby fairgrounds. It includes a main five-kilometer loop and a separate kids one-mile run that start and finish at the beach boat launch and boat ramp.

- 1 Mile kids run starting and ending at the Plains Beach Boat Ramp.
The event is a fundraiser for track, field, and cross-country activities. Proceeds support the Sanders County Running Club annual scholarship and team needs such as coolers and travel costs. Local athletes handle much of the coordination and setup and will take part in the run. Selected athletes will act as pacing "rabbits," each displaying a target finishing time to help participants maintain a pace.
Registration opens January 1, 2027 and closes March 2, 2027. Pre-registration online is preferred; race-day registration is available for cash or check. Standard registration fees listed are $15.00 for the 5K and $10.00 for the kids one-mile. T-shirts are optional for an additional $10. Current PHS track athletes who help with the event receive free entry. A Lions Club pancake feed and a fairgrounds Easter activity take place nearby on the same day.
