Plains Easter Rabbit Race, Plains MT
The Plains Easter Rabbit Race is a community running event held in Plains, Montana, as a fundraiser for Plains High School track and cross country. The program includes a 5K loop and a kids 1 mile run that both start and finish at the beach boat launch near the Plains Beach Boat Ramp.
The event supports team needs such as coolers, post-season travel costs, and local scholarships. Plains High School track athletes help coordinate, set up, and run the race; athletes who assist receive free entry.
Race logistics include pre-event registration with entry fees and race-day packet pick-up and registration at the start line. Race-day registration accepts cash or check. Select athletes will serve as "Rabbits," running pre-designated paces to assist other runners in meeting their 5K goals.
Additional community activities are scheduled at the nearby fairgrounds the same day, including a Lions Club pancake feed and an Easter egg hunt. Participants in the race may receive a $5 discount on the Lions Club pancake breakfast.
