Plains Day 5K and Kids Mile
Plains Day includes two community running events that start and finish at the Plains VFW in Plains, MT. The program offers a looped 5K and a separate one mile event for children. Distances:

- 1 Mile
Pre-registration opens April 6, 2026, and closes May 16, 2026. Standard pre-registration fees are $15 for the 5K and $10 for the kids one mile. A race-day registration option is available for cash or check at the starting line; race-day entry fees differ from pre-registration and a race shirt is available for an additional $10 at registration. Packet pickup will be available at the starting line on race day.
The event is organized to support the Sanders County Running Club annual scholarship and to assist local scholarships and travel costs for post-season track and cross-country events. Organizers note an interest in promoting local running and walking and supporting youth athletes in the community. Current Plains High School athletes who assist with the event receive free entry.
