Plains Day 5K (Skills USA)
The Plains Day 5K is a community running and walking event held in Plains, Montana on June 6, 2026. The course is a 5K loop that starts and finishes at the Plains VFW, located at 201 W Lynch Street. The event supports the SkillsUSA Junior High group; earnings will help fund their participation in the national competition.
Pre-registration opens April 6, 2026 and closes May 16, 2026. The standard pre-registration fee is $15. Race-day registration is available at the start line for $30 (cash or check); a T-shirt is an optional additional $10. Race-day entry with a shirt is listed at $40. Packet pickup and race-day registration take place at the starting line on event morning.
Local volunteers and school athletes help organize the event. Current Plains High School athletes who assist with the race receive free entry. Following the run, the local cross-country team hosts a $5 breakfast at the VFW.
