Branches & Bays 10K
Branches & Bays is a trail race of 10 km held at Noses Point in Seaham, County Durham. The course climbs and descends approximately 660 ft and 620 ft respectively and runs through an area designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
The route passes through Durham Wildlife Trust and National Trust managed woodland at Hawthorn Dene and continues along coastal sections including the Bays of Hawthorn Hive and The Blast Beach. The course is marked and marshalled; navigating the route remains the responsibility of each runner.
There is a checkpoint at 4 miles offering water and sweets, and water is available at the finish. The event provides medical cover including first aid at the checkpoint and paramedic and ambulance provision at the start and finish area. Mandatory kit includes shoes suitable for the ground conditions. The race must be completed within two hours.
Entry includes a bespoke medal, electronic timing by TOTS with instant online results, free event parking and digital photography. A race t shirt is available to purchase and prizes are awarded to first finishers in the male and female categories and specified age groups.
