About the race
Washington Trail 10K is part of the Urban Trail Series organised by Trail Outlaws. The event is a 10 km trail race around James Steel Park and along woodland trails beside the River Wear, passing areas associated with the Washington Wildfowl Wetland Centre and Cox Green.
The course has about 413 feet of ascent and 412 feet of descent and is fully marked and marshalled. There is one checkpoint passed at 0.5 miles, 3 miles and 5 miles where sweets and water are provided; additional water is available at the finish. The event has medical cover, including first aid provision at the start and finish area.
Entry features include a bespoke finisher medal, electronic race timing and instant online results provided by TOTS, free event parking and free digital photography. A race t-shirt is available to purchase separately. All finishers receive a race memento. The race must be completed within two hours.
Mandatory kit requires shoes suitable for the ground conditions. Navigation of the course is the competitor’s responsibility.
