About the race
The Trail LoopHER is a women-only trail running event held in Riverhead Forest. Participants run repeated laps of a measured 4 km loop that has about 40 m of elevation gain and mainly follows the lower valley floor through commercial pine forest.
Entrants may participate solo or in relay teams of two to six people. Only one team member runs on the course at any time. Teams are allocated a 3 m x 4 m tent site inside the event base and the course passes through the tent area so team transitions occur immediately outside each team’s tent. Teams choose how to divide laps among members and each team member must complete at least two laps.
Four event durations are offered:
- 3 hours solo or relay
- 6 hours solo or relay
- 9 hours solo or relay
- 12 hours solo or relay
The event is open to people aged 14 years and older. On-course aid stations are not provided; water is available at the event base and participants should bring their own drinking vessel. There is no mains power at tent sites and a limited supply of water onsite. No animals are allowed on course. Rule highlights include no personal aid during a lap, no artificial aids such as poles, only one runner per team on course at once, and restrictions on spectator access into the forest to avoid providing support to competitors.
Entry benefits include a finishers medal, a tent site for the day, event merchandise options, spot prizes, and free training plans from Go Run Girls tailored to the chosen event duration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
