Trail Golf Endurance Challenge
This is a one-day, multi-hole trail running stage race scored like golf. Participants complete a series of routes called Holes and the lowest cumulative stroke score determines the winner. Scoring assigns strokes based on time windows for each Hole; examples include Eagle = 2, Birdie = 3, Par = 4, with higher strokes for slower windows.
Two distances are offered:
- 50K - nine Holes, about 1700 ft total gain
- 10M - three Holes, about 500 ft total gain
Each Hole is roughly 3 to 4 miles with an average gain near 190 ft per Hole. All runners on a Hole start together at the scheduled tee time. The interval between finishing a Hole and the next start is intended for rest, refueling, and support from a runner’s crew, called Caddies. Runners are responsible for their own aid while on course; there are no aid or water stops on the course itself. Near the start/finish there will be water, Tailwind electrolyte drink, coffee, and basic snacks for runners only.
Relay teams may include two or three runners, with only one team member on course at a time; teams may choose any rotation. Additional rules cover late starts, skipped Holes, course deviations, and tie breaking by lowest cumulative on-course time. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
