Father's Day 5K & 10K
The Father's Day 5K & 10K takes place at Imagination Glen East Soccer Fields in Chesterton, Indiana. As the sixth event in the Race the Region Racing Series, this competition offers two distinct distances on a paved, relatively flat course. The route utilizes the Duneland Prairie Trail and the Iron Horse Heritage Trail, providing a shaded environment under a natural canopy of trees.
The event features two distances:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 10K Run
The 10K distance is a competitive run with a strictly enforced time limit of two hours. Participants must register online, with registration remaining open until the morning of the event. All participants receive a finisher's medal, and those who register by the specified deadline are guaranteed a race shirt.
The race utilizes timing mats at the start and chip timing for the finish to provide live results via text and email. Directional signs are placed at all turns, and finisher photos and videos are captured during the event. Awards are presented for the top Overall Male and Female, top Masters Male and Female, and the top three finishers in sixteen different age categories ranging from 10 and under to 75 and up.
