TPA's 5K on the Runway
This event provides participants with the opportunity to run on an active airport runway in Tampa. The race is limited to a maximum of 2,000 participants and does not utilize on-site registration. The course is used to support United Way Suncoast, an organization involved in community outreach programs within the Tampa Bay area.

The event is a chip-timed race with results posted online. All participants receive a race shirt and a finisher medal. Special awards and trophies are presented to the overall top three men and women, the overall wheelchair participant, and the top three finishers in various youth divisions. Additionally, certificates for free registration for the following year are awarded to the top three women and men in age divisions ranging from 19 to over 80.
The venue features stadium-style security checks provided by the TSA at the entrance, and only small bags are permitted inside. Spectators may attend the event at no extra cost. Free parking is provided at designated areas of Hillsborough Community College. Note that strollers and baby carriers are not permitted on the course and all children must be able to complete the distance independently. For those unable to attend in person, a virtual option allows runners to complete the distance on a path of their choosing. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
