Event overview
Independent Runner Events organises the Magnetic Marathon Series, a set of multi-day marathon events held in Townsville, Queensland. The 2026 schedule includes the Magnetic Triple Marathon on 2-4 May, Magnetic 10in10 on 12-21 June, and Magnetic 7in7 on 20-26 July. The series is recognised by Guinness World Records and the Australian 100 Club. The course is AIMS certified and the events take place during the mild Far North Queensland winter with average daily temperatures of about 25 degrees Celsius. A daily cut-off of 8 hours applies.

Location and facilities
The events are based at The Surf Club (Townsville Picnic Bay Surf Lifesaving Club), 80 The Strand, North Ward QLD 4810. The course runs along The Strand. Facilities noted at the venue include several drinking water fountains along the course and toilets near the start/finish area beside the basketball court.
