Elliot’s Revenge Trail Run
Elliot’s Revenge is the second run in the Outer Limits Trail Run Series and takes place at the Alligator Creek day-use area in Bowling Green Bay National Park. The course runs through walking trails and power line tracks amid undulating terrain near Mount Elliot, which rises to 1221 m above the coastal plains.
The route features fast open trails, sections of technical single track, several creek crossings and a prominent hill with out-and-back sections and some stairs. Trails are clearly marked and marshalled; creek crossings are expected and feet will get wet, but the tracks are not overgrown and gaiters are not required. Some sections include rocks and gravel.
Distances offered:
- 6 km - short course with creek crossings and a notable hill
- 12 km - intermediate course with undulating terrain and out-and-backs
- 21 km - long course with two laps and varied elevation
- Junior short distance for under 16s
Race entry includes a fully marked and marshalled course, on-course first aid, professional electronic timing and photography, a timing chip bib to keep, on-course hydration (no cups provided), a post-race recovery station with hydration and fruit, and access to food and coffee vans. Mandatory gear for the 12 km and 21 km includes two compression bandages, a fully charged waterproof phone (limited service), a whistle, a space blanket and sufficient water and nutrition for the run. Event officials may short-course or remove competitors if safety concerns arise. The organisers acknowledge the Bindal people as the Traditional Owners of this land.
