Town to Tower 10k : Ruthin to Moel Famau uphill race
This is an uphill only 10 km race that starts in the centre of Ruthin and climbs to the Jubilee Tower on Moel Famau. The finish line is at over 550 m above sea level, on the high point of the Clwydian Hills in North Wales. The route uses a mixture of lanes, trails, fields and stream crossings and includes a steep gully in the final section.
The event is organised by Out Fit and is based in the market town of Ruthin. After finishing, participants walk 25-35 minutes to Bwlch Penbarras to collect a medal and access transport. There is an option to purchase a bus ticket at the event to return to Ruthin and parked vehicles. Entry options include a paid standard entry and a complimentary entry category for certain members, with published prices ranging up to £21.50.
Previous participants have commented on strong marshaling in the early part of the course, variable waymarking in later sections, and scenic views from the summit.
