Town to Tower 10k - Ruthin to Moel Famau UPHILL Race
The event is an uphill only 10 km race from Ruthin to the Jubilee Tower on Moel Famau, with the finish located at over 550 m above sea level. The route starts in the town centre and climbs to the Jubilee Tower, offering varied terrain including lanes, trails, fields, streams and a steep gulley in the final section.
The race date is 15 May 2027. A 5 km cut-off point is in place at Bwlch Penbarras. After finishing, participants walk 25–35 minutes back to Bwlch Penbarras, where medals are distributed and return transport to Ruthin is available; a bus ticket can be purchased as an option at the event.
Entry options include a standard paid entry priced at £21.50 and a complimentary entry for OutFit members (Snowdon & Nevis members). Past participant feedback highlights scenic views from the top and generally positive organisation, while some reports note inconsistent waymarking on portions of the course and a demanding final climb.
