Triathlon y Bala 2026
Triathlon y Bala is a multi-distance triathlon held in Bala around Llyn Tegid. The event begins with a lake water start in Llyn Tegid with visible mountain backdrop, followed by bike and run stages through the surrounding area. The organiser offers three race distances:
- Sprint: lake swim 750 m, bike 20 km, run 5 km
- Standard: lake swim 1500 m, bike 37 km, run 10 km
- Legend (70.3): lake swim 1900 m, bike 85 km, run 21.1 km
In 2026 the Standard distance will host several championship events, including the British Championships, the Welsh Triathlon Super Series Grand Final, and a European Championship Age Group Qualifier. The event village provides music, commentary, shopping and food. On-course support includes marshals, signage and pick-up vehicles, and finishers receive event mementos. Timing is chip-based with live online results.
Triathlon y Bala supports Tom Harrison House, an addiction recovery centre for veterans and emergency service personnel; the event includes fundraising options and notes availability of charity places.
