Triathlon y Bala 2026
Triathlon y Bala takes place in Bala on 06 Sep 2026 and starts with a water start in Llyn Tegid, with Aran Fawddwy visible from the course. The event offers three race distances with lake swims followed by bike and run legs on local roads and trails.
Distances:
- Sprint: lake swim 750m, bike 19.3km, run 5km
- Standard: lake swim 1500m, bike 37km, run 10km
- Legend 70.3: lake swim 1900m, bike 87.3km, run 19km
The Standard distance will host several championship events in 2026, including the British Championships, the Welsh Triathlon Super Series Grand Final, and a European Championship Age Group qualifier. The event includes an event village with music, commentary, shopping and food, family finishes, on-course marshals and pick up vehicles, unique finisher mementos, and chip timing with live online results. Triathlon y Bala supports Tom Harrison House, an addiction recovery centre that works with veterans, still-serving personnel and family members; exercise is part of the centre’s recovery programme and residents often take part in the race.
