Triathlon y Bala 2026
Triathlon y Bala takes place in Bala on 06 Sep 2026 and returns to the area for a third year. The event supports Tom Harrison House, an addiction recovery centre that works with veterans, still-serving personnel, reservists, emergency services staff and family members; exercise is part of the centre's recovery programme.
The race begins with a water start in Llyn Tegid with Aran Fawddwy as a backdrop, then continues onto lake-side bike and run courses. Three race distances are offered:
- Sprint: lake swim 750 m, bike 20 km, run 5 km
- Standard: lake swim 1500 m, bike 37 km, run 10 km
- Legend (70.3): lake swim 1900 m, bike 85 km, run 21.1 km
Event facilities include an event village with music, commentary, shopping and food, family-friendly features including family finishes, and on-course support with marshals, signage and pick-up vehicles. Participants receive specially designed finisher mementos and results are provided with chip timing and live online updates. The Standard distance will host national and international qualifiers in 2026, including the British Championships, the Welsh Triathlon Super Series Grand Final and a European Championship age group qualifier. The event is bilingual with information and commentary available in English and Welsh.
A Closed Road Triathlon Season Pass offers guaranteed entry to both this event and the Llandudno Triathlon, series results, an exclusive series hoody and a choice of Sprint or Standard series entry; places are limited. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
