Tower to Castle ULTRA 30 : Blackpool to Lancaster
Tower to Castle is a point to point coastal ultra covering 30 miles (route preview approximately 49.6 km including the ferry crossing) from Blackpool to Lancaster. The course runs along the coast and includes a ferry crossing part way through; participants must remain with their start group for the first section to the ferry, approximately 10 miles, and may run at their own pace after crossing to Knott End.
Entry details include a fee of £60, 200 places, and a minimum age of 18 years. Included with entry are a finisher medal, finisher hoodie, chip timing, a fully marked route, stocked aid stations and regular checkpoints. There are three checkpoints that offer water, cordial and a selection of supplementary snacks; full checkpoint details and the GPX file are provided to registered participants shortly before the event.
Race day procedures include in person check-in, collection of a race pack and tracker, and a mandatory kit check. Mandatory kit carried from start to finish includes a waterproof coat or jacket with sealed seams, a spare long sleeved base layer, a water bottle or bladder with at least 1 litre capacity, a fully charged mobile phone, a foil blanket and a whistle. Return transport to the start is available for an additional charge. The maximum permitted completion time is eight hours from the allocated start, including ferry waiting and crossing time.
