Event Overview
The Tour deCatur returns for its 24th year in Decatur, Georgia. Based at Decatur High School, this community event supports the Decatur Education Foundation through various running and walking activities. The main road race serves as a Peachtree-qualifying event and features a USATF certified course (GA22015WC).
Participants can choose from several participation options:
- 5K Road Race
- 1-Mile Fun Run
- 1-Mile Bulldog Jog (for participants running with dogs)
- Tot Trot (for children aged 4 and under)
- None Run (a non-running option for supporters)
Logistics and Location
The events begin on Commerce Drive near the high school stadium. A designated waiting area is located on the football field for those who have already collected their race materials. The Bulldog Jog includes a specific area known as the "Barking Lot" at the green space on Commerce and W. Trinity, as dogs are restricted from school property.
Packet and t-shirt pickup is available on the Thursday and Friday preceding the event at Legacy Park. On the day of the event, registration and number pickup are situated in the high school cafeteria. Attendees are encouraged to use MARTA or walk to the venue, though parking is provided at Agnes Scott.
Recognition and Awards
The 5K event includes an awards ceremony held on the steps between the cafeteria and the stadium. Awards are presented to the overall male, female, and non-binary winners, as well as masters winners in those same categories. Age group awards are also provided for first, second, and third place in brackets ranging from 10 and under to 70 and over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
