Event overview
Tour de Trails is a series of four winter trail races in the Rockford, Illinois area running from December 20, 2025 to March 21, 2026. The series includes individual race entries and two series entry options: a full series with swag and a full series no-swag option. Events are held on natural trails and can feature ice, snow and very cold conditions. Races are subject to cancellation by state, county or city park officials; there are no refunds if a race is cancelled. Proceeds support Rockford Road Runners community activities.

- 9 Mile - Byron Forest Preserve, Byron, IL
- 12 Mile - Severson Dells / Funderburg / Coleman Forest Preserve, Rockford, IL
Individual entry fees listed on the event page vary by distance and age group; the 12-mile entry is listed at $35 and several distances list reduced youth prices. Series fees are listed as $125 for all four races and $80 for the all-four-races no-swag option. Awards include certificates for first place male/female and five-year age groups, with personalized awards for places 1-3 mailed after the event. The 9- and 12-mile races offer an early start option for runners who verify a pace of 13 minutes per mile or slower. Course maps will be posted by the organizer.
