The Arny Johnson 5k - 10 mile takes place on Saturday, April 25, 2026, in Loves Park, Illinois. The event is the 40th annual run/walk and offers two distances. Both events start and finish near the Zenith Park Way Trail Head (5451 Zenith Pkwy, Loves Park, IL 61111).

Location and course
Both courses run along the Willow Creek Path and enter Rock Cut State Park. The 10-mile course includes three water stops. Runners will pass a water stop twice near the dam and will pass another near the park north entrance where the paved path crosses the road. The Willow Creek Path is narrow; strollers and pets are not allowed.
Entries, fees and packet pickup
Standard entry fees listed are $35 for the 5k and $40 for the 10-mile. Youths 18 and under have a reduced fee of $15 (price adjustment at checkout). There is race day sign-up at higher fees: $50 for the 5k and $60 for the 10-mile. Early packet pickup is scheduled the day before at Fire Department Coffee, and race day packet pickup is at the Zenith Park Way Trail Head.
Awards and charity
Age group awards are offered for categories 8 and under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, and then in five-year increments up to 100+. There will be a short awards presentation for the first-place male and female soon after they finish; other awards can be collected at the awards table and will not be mailed. The event supports the Fire Department Coffee Foundation, which assists firefighters who are sick or injured on the job. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
