Byron Rocks 5k & 10k - Run it. Walk it. Ruck it.
Byron Rocks is a community race held in Byron, Illinois on May 2, 2026. The event includes running, walking, and rucking divisions and is presented as a family-friendly local event. Registration, check-in, start, and finish are located at the Byron City Hall parking lot, 232 W 2nd Street, Byron, IL 61010.

The same course is used for both run/walk and ruck divisions. All participants are timed; timing support for the event is provided by Racing Expectations. Ruck participants must carry the required weight for the entire distance, with weight verified before the start; a post-run weight check is not required.
Awards are given for the 5K and 10K runs with overall male and female winners and first through third places in male and female age categories: 15 and under, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and over. Ruck awards follow the same layout but are awarded separately.
A registration deadline is noted for guaranteeing a Byron Rocks t-shirt; registrants must meet that deadline to be guaranteed a shirt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
