Tour de Trail: Wyandotte County Lake Park
This event is a trail running stage in the Tour De Trail series held at Wyandotte County Lake Park in Kansas City, KS. The course is presented in the 10K range and aims to use existing trail systems; individual stages in the series typically measure between 5.5 and 6.5 miles.
Entry fees for a single race are listed at $50, with $5 from each entry donated to Urban Trail Co. Race day registration fees vary by payment method. Timing is by clock and results will be posted on UltraSignup. Participants receive a trail-specific sticker and a handmade finishers award for each stage; registrants also receive a single piece of series swag. Athletes who complete all six stages in the series receive a special finishers award.
Aid stations provide water only; this is a cupless event so participants must carry their own hydration device such as a handheld or hydration vest. Finish-line provisions include cold fizzy water, soda, and light snacks.
Course markings will use distinctive flagging and will be explained in the pre-race briefing. Alternate courses may be used if trails are closed; alternates can include cross-country, equestrian, paved trails, or combinations. Rules include no poles except by medical exemption, no littering (littering may result in disqualification), and mandatory course adherence. Dogs are allowed if leashed and cleaned up after. Personal music devices are permitted with headphones and at a volume that allows awareness of others. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult for the entire race.
