Heroes for Hospice 5K Run/Walk
Heroes for Hospice is presented as Kansas Citys first and only 5K to benefit hospice and palliative care. The event is described as an annual race held in Prairiefire with the gathering area at the REI parking lot. Parking is available at the REI lot with additional parking around Prairiefire.
Packet pick-up is held at the Running Well Store at 6009 Johnson Dr, Mission, KS, and packets are also made available at race time in front of HomeGoods. Timing is official with a chip included in the participant packet; results are recorded through KC Running Company and posted after the race. There is an aid station midway on the course and water and snacks at the finish provided by donors.
Children aged eight and under may participate without a registration fee, though a T shirt is available for a fee. Strollers are permitted with the request that stroller users start at the back of the group. Pets are not allowed under official race rules. Headphones are permitted with the expectation that runners remain aware of others. Awards include plaques for overall male and female finishers and for overall masters male and female finishers. All participants receive a Heroes for Hospice 5K running shirt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
