Tour de Trail: Lexington Lake
Tour de Trail: Lexington Lake is a trail race in DeSoto, Kansas, offered as part of a six-race Tour de Trail series. The course is described as "10k ish" and stages will generally fall between 5.5 and 6.5 miles, depending on trail layout and conditions. Runners and hikers are allowed and participants are given four hours to complete the course.
Entry for a singular race is listed at $50, with $5 from each entry donated to Urban Trail Co. Race day registration is available for a higher fee and may be paid by cash, check, or electronic methods. Timing is by clock and results are posted on UltraSignup.
Aid on course is water only. This is a cupless event, so participants must bring their own hydration device such as a handheld bottle or a hydration vest. Finish-line refreshments include cold fizzy water, soda, and light snacks.
Course marking uses distinctive flagging and will be explained before the race. Road crossings may occur and participants are responsible for their own safe crossings. Music is allowed with headphones at a volume that permits hearing others; one earbud or bone conduction headphones are recommended. Dogs are permitted if leashed and controlled, and children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Poles are not allowed except by prior medical exemption. Each race awards first through third places for woman, man, and non-binary categories, and all participants receive a handmade finishers award specific to that stage. Athletes who complete all six races receive an additional special finisher award. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
