Shawnee Mission Triathlon and Duathlon
The Shawnee Mission Triathlon and Duathlon is a multi-event race held at Shawnee Mission Park in Lenexa, Kansas. The course uses park roads and the Mill Creek Streamway Trail, which includes asphalt pathways along the stream and through hillside forests. Relay team options are available for two and three person teams across multiple race types.
The event is designated USAT Kansas State Championship for the Short Course and Olympic Triathlons. It is also recognized by the USA Triathlon Paratriathlon Committee as Paratriathlon Friendly, with adaptive athletes entered under the Individual Adaptive Open Division. The triathlon program includes Athena divisions for women and Clydesdale divisions for men with defined minimum weights and age brackets; participants may not enter those divisions and an age group division at the same event.
The duathlon starts near the check in tent and uses the main park road and the Mill Creek Streamway Trail for its run segments. The first run loop is run counterclockwise and the second loop is run clockwise. The bike segment for the duathlon consists of three laps around the park on the main park road.
