Tour de Trail: Cedar Niles
This event is a stage of the Tour de Trail series held at Cedar Niles in Olathe, KS (25117 W 119th St). The course is described as a 10K range and typically measures about 10K with variations that place stages between 5.5 and 6.5 miles. Runners and hikers are allowed and entrants are given four hours to complete the course.
Entry for a single race is listed at $50, with $5 of each entry donated to Urban Trail Co. Race day registration is available at a higher fee and the series offers a discounted price for registering for all six stages before the stated deadline. Athletes who complete all six races in the series receive a special finishers award; registration alone does not qualify.
Timing will be by clock and results will be posted on UltraSignup. Aid on course is water only; the event is cupless so participants must provide their own hydration device such as a handheld or hydration vest. At the finish there will be cold fizzy water, soda and light snacks.
Course markings use distinctive flagging and a pre race briefing will explain them. Rules include no littering, no poles except by medical exemption, no alcohol in Johnson County parks, and dogs must be leashed and cleaned up after. Personal music is allowed with headphones at a safe volume and no speakers. Podium awards are given for first, second, and third in woman, man, and non binary categories, and all participants receive a handmade finisher item specific to the stage.
