Toughest Alive Hourglass - Idaho, November 21, 2026
This is a Last Man Standing style event in Meridian, ID, offering Run, Ruck, Hybrid and Walk divisions. Competitors complete repeated loops; each round must be finished before the horn. Rounds become shorter as the event progresses.
How the event runs: finish a prescribed loop before time expires to earn another round. After each completed round the available time is reduced by one minute. There is no minimum number of rounds and a participant's finish is recorded when they fail to meet the cutoff.
Distances and formats:
- Run: 2-mile loop
- Hybrid: 2-mile loop plus 10 burpees each round
- Walk / Ruck: 1-mile loop
The event offers a Double Tap weekend format: Friday Night Grit is a separate short challenge with a 15-minute horn, and Saturday is the Hourglass rounds described above. The course is repeatable so every round starts and ends at the same home base.
Expect a welcoming start/finish area, aid-station support, music and a community atmosphere with encouragement for leaders and later finishers alike. Friends and family may spectate from the start/finish area. Participants should plan fuel, hydration and endurance gear since each round returns to the same base and the clock progressively shortens.
