Event overview

TOUGH SHEEP takes place January 23–24, 2026 in Reno, Nevada at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center (4590 S Virginia St., Reno, NV 89502). The two-day program includes multiple brand-sponsored waves and organized workouts. The Hunt Giveaway Workout on January 23 is capped at 510 participants and uses 30-person waves. Brands may sponsor waves and offer benefits to members of their wave. The Pro Competition Workout on January 24 has no participant cap and is run as a strictly judged, timed competition inspired by HYROX and tailored for backcountry athletes.

Events and prizes

The Hunt Giveaway Workout focuses on completion and simulates physical and mental demands of a sheep hunt. Finishers are entered to win a 10-day Dall's Sheep hunt in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (hunt window August 10–September 20, 2026). Additional raffle prizes are available for workout finishers. The Hunt Giveaway Workout fee is listed as $150.

The Pro Competition Workout emphasizes elite fitness. Top male and top female finishers are each offered a choice of $2,500 cash or $3,000 floor credit. Additional prizes are available for top finishers. The Pro event fee is listed as $100 and registration notes show it is open to ages 18 to 100.
