Rattlesnake Mountain Challenge
The Rattlesnake Mountain Challenge is a trail running event around Rattlesnake Mountain and the Huffaker hills in Reno, Nevada. The course is entirely on trail and offers an officially timed 5k plus a virtual 5k option. The event is recognized and sanctioned by USA Track and Field.
Race registration includes a long sleeve performance shirt. The event is open to youth and adult athletes ages 5 and up. Emergency medical services will be provided by REMSA. Results will be posted online after the race.

Parking at the Huffaker Hills Trailhead is limited; when on-site parking is full, volunteers will direct participants to park at Longley Town Center where a shuttle will run to the starting area. Shuttle service will operate from the Longley Town Center parking lot at 5260 Longley Lane, Reno. Packet pickup takes place at Huffaker Hills Trailhead on Friday December 25 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm and on Saturday December 26 from 7:00 am to 8:30 am.
This event serves as a fundraiser for the Azteca FC youth cross country and track program. Azteca FC athletes have qualified to compete at the Junior Olympics, including participation in Savannah, Georgia in July 2025. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
