Kilted 5K Fun Run in Virginia City
The Kilted 5K Fun Run is a spirited walk/run event held in Historic Virginia City on April 11, 2026. It is organized by Northern Nevada Throwing Company and based at the Firehouse Grill and Saloon, 171 South C Street, Virginia City, NV.
The course is a 5-kilometre walk or run that acknowledges Scottish heritage and community tradition. Participants receive a complimentary drink ticket for use at the Firehouse Saloon. The event is open to all ages.
A Nevada Tartan Day whisky tasting is scheduled after the run and is hosted by the Nevada Society of Scottish Clans; the tasting is offered for a separate fee of $25 or for $45 when combined with 5K registration. An official event T-shirt is available for $22, with T-shirt sales closing on March 13, 2026.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Great Basin Highland Games, a nonprofit that celebrates ancestral highland athletics. The regional games feature events such as Stone Throw, Hammer Throw, Weight for Distance, Weight Over Bar, Sheaf Toss, and Caber Toss, alongside beard competitions, coos, bagpipes, kilts, and vendors.
