Tough Gal Team Challenge - Rotorua
The Tough Gal Team Challenge in Rotorua is a women-only team obstacle event for groups of three, held at Lakes Ranch, 79 Lake Rotokawau Road, Ōwhata, Rotorua. The event date is Saturday 21st August 2027 and entries open 1st November 2026.
Teams complete an approximately 6 km course (one lap) with varied terrain. Organisers note the course distance is approximate and some venues may be shorter, with course equivalence judged by the time taken compared with a flat 6 km cross country course. The route includes mud pits, climbing walls, crawling tunnels and other obstacles placed across rugged farmland and natural bushland.
Entry options and fees are published with early, late and event-day rates applied per team of three. Personalised race numbers are available if teams are entered by 6th August. Podium merit medals are awarded to the first three Tough Gal Teams based on gun time; starting in the first wave is recommended for prize eligibility.
Facilities at Lakes Ranch include registration in a big barn, hot showers, a large hot swimming pool, backpacker-style accommodation, hot food and coffee for sale, parking and first aid support. Competitors receive a finisher medal, personalised race number, event support and electronic timing. Covered shoes are compulsory; football or rugby boots with moulded studs are permitted while running spikes and aluminium studs are not.
