The JAM 5K Run/Walk at East Pete Day
The event features a fast, level 5K run and walk course through residential East Petersburg. The course begins and ends at the East Petersburg Fire Hall on Pine Street, one block east of Manheim Pike (Main St. Rt 72) and one block north of State St. (Rt 722).
Awards include medals for top finishers in each age group, with medals to the top three in each gender age group. Prize money for overall top three finishers in the male and female categories is $200, $100, and $50. T-shirt orders have a deadline of 8/25 at midnight.
Registration information from the organizer lists an opening date of 1/26/2026 and closes on race day. The 5K registration fee is $25. Walk up registrations and bib and T-shirt pickup are accepted Friday 5:30-8:00 p.m. and starting at 7:00 a.m. on race day at the Community Building on Pine Street, directly across from the East Pete Fire Company. A separate kids fun run is listed as an obstacle course with no fee.
The event supports the Joy Among Mourning (JAM) Foundation, a local nonprofit focused on bringing hope, healing, and joy to those experiencing loss. Proceeds will benefit Hempfield High School graduates pursuing higher education, the Dravet Syndrome Foundation, and 521 Club, Inc. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
