East Pete Day 5K
The East Pete Day 5K is part of the East Petersburg Day community events held on Saturday, September 19. The event includes a back to the 80s theme and a Kids Fun Run; participants are encouraged to wear 1980s-style clothing such as neon, parachute pants and leg warmers.

The 5K is described as a fast, level run and walk course through residential East Petersburg. The course begins and ends at the East Petersburg Fire Hall on Pine Street, located one block east of Manheim Pike (Main St. Rt 72) and one block north of State Street (Rt 722).
Awards include medals for the top three finishers in each gender age group and prize money for the top three overall male and female winners of $200, $100 and $50. There is also a special prize for the best-dressed runner.
Entry fees are listed for the races, with an adult 5K fee and a discounted per-runner rate for groups of five or more; a fee is noted for a Kids Fun Run t-shirt. The 5K is followed by the East Petersburg Day Parade, which leads to East Petersburg Community Park for live music, jugglers, rides, games, food and fireworks.
