About the race
The TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon takes place in Toronto, Ontario on 17 and 18 October 2026. The event is based in downtown Toronto at 100 Queen St W and runs across two days in mid-October. The race serves as the grand finale of the Canada Running Series. Since 2017 it has been used for the Athletics Canada National Marathon Championships and has also doubled as the Olympic Trials.
Participants range from Canadian Olympians to recreational and charity runners, and the event’s stated mission is building community through the sport of running. Organizers describe a commitment to integrating sport with sustainable communities and the city-building process. The event supports fundraising through a broad group of partner organizations and charities; current fundraising figures list CA$834,884.68 raised toward a CA$2,000,000 goal (42% raised).
