About the race
The Ugly Sweater 5k Canicross Run and Walk takes place on December 5, 2026 at the Kortright Centre for Conservation in Woodbridge, Vaughan, Ontario. The program includes a timed 5k loop for humans and canicross teams and a family friendly 1k Elf Run for children.

The 5k course is a single and double-track loop over trails that include hills, fields, bridges and technical sections. Elf Run participants receive a festive bib and a giveaway; parents may run with children.
This event raises funds for the Daily Bread Food Bank and a portion of registration fees will be donated. Donations may also be made online, at the event, or by dropping off food or monetary gifts; non-perishable items can be collected at registration for delivery.
Included with participation are a bib, post-race food and hot beverages, park entrance fee, race swag, timing and awards, prizes for ugliest sweater or onesie, a festive background and free high-resolution photos. Access to the Kortright Winter Wonders event is provided.
Basic rules and safety notes: no baby joggers or strollers, no headphones, no bikes or skis on course, and bibs must be worn visibly. Canicross competitors must use canicross specific harness, bungee and waist belt, keep dogs on leash at all times, maintain a minimum of two leash lengths from others, pick up waste, and follow passing etiquette. Reactive dogs may use a yellow marker to indicate extra space. The organizer may cancel or modify the event for dangerous conditions; there are no refunds or deferrals but bib transfers are allowed.
